Tasmanian Tiger (Work in Progress)

Almost finished with another in the Forgotten Dreams Series. I recently saw a film with this extinct animal as an integral part of the film. One can find footage of the last of the "tigers" from the 1930's. They were not tigers at all. More closely related to Tasmanian Devils, they look more like a dog with a giant mouth, striped, a tail like a kangaroo and a marsupial to boot.

Forgotten Dreams Series: Big Bison II 36x36

This is one of an ever expanding series of paintings called "Forgotten Dreams". I was inspired by cave paintings from all over the world. I used lots of texture to lend the work the look and feel of stone. I used charcoal and dry pigments to lend an air of authenticity to the work. I am amazed at the sophistication of our ancient ancestors and the beauty of their work that still survives.
